Key Features:

The program is designed to allow most students to choose with minimum conflicts
The schedule is specially designed for flexibility in choosing sessions and grades for different subjects.
Students can pick any combination of Chinese and/or Math and/or Reading
Week Day classes are 45 min length
Weekend Classes are 100 min in length (2 classes with 10 min break in between)
More classes will be opened pending registration. Minimum 3 students for each class. Maximum is 6 for K class, 8 for 1st grader class and 10 for other grades.

FAQ

1. What's new in Mulan Academy onlin classe?

Answer: We continue to offer Chinese, Singapore Math and Wordly Wise 3000 Reading. We designed more classes and more timing, in consideration of students from West Coast.

2. What's special in Mulan Academy?

Answer: Our class size is limited to 6 students for grade K and max of 10 students in other class. This is in contrast to some other academies with very large zoom class.

3. What's fun in Mulan Academy?

Answer: For Chinese class, students will have singing, story telling, group reading. In Math class, students will use fun-filled Singapore Dimension book. For Reading, the fun-filled Wordly Wise 3000 provides lots of rhythms, short stories.

4. How flexible is the schedule?

Answer: The program is particularly designed so that every student can choose ANY grade of class to attend: Chinese, Math and Reading. Please see above schedule. We try to accommodate most students schedules.

5. How much does it cost?

Answer: Mulan Camp charges about $10/class hour. For maximum learning results during the fall semester, we do recommend you to sign up for all 15 weeks, during this pandemic period since students are mostly at home.

6. How much can my kid learn at Mulan Academy?

Answer: After 15 weeks, every student will complete:

a) one grade level in Chinese, e.g., from grade 2 to grade 3

b) one grade level in Math, e.g, from grade 3 to grade 4.

c) one grade level in reading.

d) for 1st graders, well practiced in NNAT for Oct exam.

e) for 2nd graders, well practiced for CoGAT exam.

7. What are all other fees?

Answer: Besides tuition,

- $30 registration fee per student. This is not refundable.

- $39 book fee for Chinese if physical book is issued.

- $60 book fee for math and $25 for reading.

8. How's the class like?

Answer: All classes will be taught by Mulan experienced teachers. All class will have instruction to students, then students practice, and teacher/students discuss key knowledge points.

9. I'm from New Jersey. Can I buy text books myself?

Answer: Yes. Please use below link and instruction to buy the proper grade of the books. During current pandemic, it takes about two weeks for regular shipping. If urgent, please choose "2nd Day" shipping, although it's more costly.

10. How can I figure out which grade I should enroll my child in?

Answer: Yes. You following options

If your child is attending Chinese class in other organizations, it should be OK for you to continue the grade. If your child has not learned to read or write, he/she should start with K. If your child attended full summer camp with Mulan Academy, he/she should move to next grade. If still any doubt, please email us and our Chinese lead teacher can do an individual assessment.
